Participation of Golrang Drug and Health Innovation Center in Tehran University of Medical Sciences Research and Technology Ecosystem Program

The Golrang Drug and Health Innovation Center participated in the “Research and Technology Ecosystem of Tehran University of Medical Sciences” program on December 15–16, 2025 (24–25 Azar 1404).

According to the Public Relations Office of Golrang Pharmaceutical Group, this participation included delivering presentations and introducing the Innovation Center, setting up an exhibition booth to present the center’s services and Golrang Pharmaceutical Investment products, active engagement in pitch sessions for technology-driven projects to investors, and the development of strategic collaborations.

The program was attended by senior national officials, including the Minister of Health and Medical Education, deputies of the Ministry of Health, and the deans of various faculties of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

In the exhibition section, which hosted more than 50 research centers and faculties of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, the Golrang Drug and Health Innovation Center established a dedicated booth to showcase part of its activities and services in the fields of research, innovation, and technology development.

During the event, Mr. Mohammad-Reza Zafarghandi, Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, attended the closing ceremony. In addition, Mr. Akbar Akhoundzadeh, Deputy Minister for Research and Technology at the Ministry of Health, Mr. Hossein Rais Karami, President of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and Mr. Kordi, Vice President for Research and Technology of the University, visited the exhibition and the Golrang Innovation Center’s booth, where they were briefed on the center’s activities and areas of cooperation.

The Golrang Drug and Health Innovation Center was established to create effective linkages between academia and industry, facilitate the exchange of scientific knowledge and experience, support innovative activities, and develop joint research and development projects. Among the key areas of focus of the center are leveraging the capacities provided by the Knowledge-Based Production Leap Law, maximizing the use of knowledge-based companies and university teams, and creating wealth from knowledge.

During one of the program’s sessions, Ms. Parisa Rasoulian, Head of the Golrang Drug and Health Innovation Center, introduced the center’s services and capabilities and provided explanations regarding research collaboration opportunities, implementation of joint research projects, and support for student theses.

Ms. Zahra Lork, Head of Innovation Ecosystem Development at Golrang Ventures—the innovation and venture capital arm of Golrang Industrial Group—also attended the event and outlined pathways for collaboration between university-based companies and startups and Golrang Industrial Group.

Furthermore, Mr. Mohammad-Hossein Hassani, Business Development Manager at Golrang Pharmaceutical Investment Company, along with Ms. Rasoulian, participated in specialized investor pitch panels, where they evaluated research and industrial proposals presented by research centers, institutes, and faculties of medical sciences, and helped pave the way for further collaboration around selected projects.

Across more than 10 project pitch panels held over the two days, the Golrang Drug and Health Innovation Center was present in all sessions and reviewed more than 50 proposals covering areas such as dentistry, implantable biomaterials, cell culture, advanced medical technologies, digital health, various wound dressing technologies, and pharmaceutical products in fields including immunology, hematology, neurology, and others. Based on the priorities and strategies of Golrang Pharmaceutical Investment Group, several projects were shortlisted for further evaluation.

The participation of the Golrang Drug and Health Innovation Center in this event was aligned with Golrang Pharmaceutical Investment Group’s objectives of expanding scientific interactions, strengthening the innovation ecosystem, and enhancing research-driven collaboration between academia and industry.
