At Iran’s first specialized nanomedicine startup event, three innovative projects—“Faisona” from Jiroft University of Medical Sciences, and “Hydracin” and “Vitadetect” from Tehran University of Medical Sciences—won first to third place respectively, out of 28 accepted ideas.
According to the Public Relations Office of the School of Advanced Medical Technologies, the first Nanomedicine Startup in Health was held on Mehr 24, 1404 (October 16, 2025), in Preofessor Gharib Hall at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, with the participation of 21 universities from across the country.
The event aimed to identify, empower, and connect innovators in the field of nanomedicine. Out of the numerous submitted proposals, 28 ideas were shortlisted after preliminary evaluation and invited for in-person presentation.
In the first stage of pitching, 10 top ideas advanced to the final round, where they benefited from team-building and specialized business mentoring before presenting their projects to the expert judging panel.
The jury panel, composed of 14 members, included faculty from the School of Advanced Medical Technologies, representatives of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology’s Nanotechnology Development, Golrang Pharmaceutical Investment Group , Golrang’s Medicine and Health Innovation Center, Golrang Ventures Fund, and the Henam Pharmed Accelerator, who collectively evaluated the projects.
At the conclusion of the event, Faisona from Jiroft University of Medical Sciences secured first place, followed by Hydracin and Vitadetect, both from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, in second and third place respectively.
This event, as Iran’s first national initiative dedicated to nanomedicine startups, served as a valuable platform for idea exchange, entrepreneurship development, and fostering academic–industrial collaboration in the field of nanotechnology-driven healthcare innovation.
